Silk evolve is a reflowable ebook conversion platform. The app implements the enhancements of the EPUB 3 specification, including audio/video support, SVG, MathML, multiple navigation tables, and many new CSS3 formatting properties. It knows how to read PDFs, and it knows when it needs a human being to validate its reading. This guided process dramatically improves the fidelity of ebook content to the print original, preserving the publisher’s investment in editing and proofreading, to get accurate content to market faster.

The project was developed in Java using JavaFX for UI, spring, maven and hibernate for the backend. Apache Pdfbox was used to parse the pdf and use the resulting XML to convert and manipulate it to EPUB.
